“Reborn VR” Announced for Rift/Vive/PSVR, Gameplay Trailer

China-based VR company Time of Virtual Reality has just formally announced “Reborn VR“, an action title that they will be publishing along with Lighting End VR and Ancient Amuletor . This game is created from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4 by Geronimo Interactive (creator of FPS game Pixel Gear) on the Oculus, PSVR and SteamVR platforms for Oculus Rift, Playstation VR and HTC Vive .

The game requires players to control an ancient warriors resurrected by a reborn project to fight against many alien robots. Abandon the traditional action system, so that players can freely use the lightsaber(s) to attack, block, and even dice the enemies into pieces.

The game looks rather stylish, as the trailer depicts a wide mix of game mechanics, as it pit you in battles against samurai robots. Player can open fire at enemies with guns, or with a laser sword, deflect projectiles, slice and dice debris that the enemy robot throw at you or at the enemy robot themselves. With Esp Force, the player can also push and pull foes, or fire energy blast at them.

One of the unique selling points is the QTE, where the game slows to a crawl momentarily while you are forced to take certain actions, depending on what the game request. For example in a boss fight, a boss may take a wide swing, in which an indicator appear, telling you to dodge by bending down quickly. On the other hand, the locomotion method is unknown, and in most part of the video, the character is depicted stationary which is rather concerning.

No release details including the date and price has been announced. This game (with Ancient Amuletor and Lighting End VR) will be appearing at Pax East 2017 at Boston, MA in a week at booth 22127.
