Stage Stories


Stage Stories is a virtual reality app which presents extracts from various performances during the two summer festivals in 2016.
When viewers put on their immersive headsets, they will find themselves in a virtual rehearsal studio, surrounded by ten directors, choreographers and artistic directors, each of whom will give, at their request, a short talk about his or her work and the selected extract. Viewers will then be able to watch this extract as if they were part of the performance.
For each performance the artists and production crews have considered questions this new approach raises about camera positioning and the best way to record the action and capture the space.

Heroes: A Duet in Virtual Reality


Melissa Painter of MAP Design Lab and Helios Dance Company partner with MPC VR to present: HEROES, A Duet in Mixed Reality, premiered at Sundance New Frontier 2017. The project is a 2D, VR and AR dance experience set to the iconic song Heroes by David Bowie. HEROES was made with the support of Oculus, Unity Technologies, Nokia Ozo, AMD Radeon and HP. The project takes participants inside the world of two dancers performing an athletic and intimate duet at the historic Ace Hotel in Downtown LA.
