Dreadhalls, which made its debut at the 2013 Oculus + Indiecade VR Jam, has just been released on Steam.
Dreadhalls is a horror adventure title that take places in a massive dungeon, whereby the player has to find a way to escape by exploring and trying to survive. The levels are procedural, so that the player will not be able to know what to expect in repeated play. You will also encounter monsters in the game, but you can’t fight them. You will have to evade them. There’s no teleportation, and you move by sliding in this title.
The game is available for USD$10, and features hand-tracked motion control, but you can also play with keyboard/mouse as well as a gamepad.
Dreadhalls releasing on Steam also includes HTC Vive and OSVR compatibility, which means Vive owners can get to experience this title for the first time as well, as the game was only available first on Gear VR (in 2015) followed by Oculus Rift last year.
The game is available with a 15% launch discount. The Steam version can be played in both SteamVR and OculusVR mode. If you are playing it on Oculus Rift, then playing it in OculusVR mode will enable Oculus-specific features (such as asynchronous timewrap, finger tracking etc).
