Phaser Lock Interactive, maker of Final Approach and Twisted Arrow, has entered a partnership with Korean video game studio “Smilegate” to create virtual reality game title together, according to press release.
According to announcement, this is actually one of the various rounds of investment that Phaser Lock Interactive is looking into, in order to grow their studio’s infrastructure. The deal will also means Smilegate will be the publishing and distribution for the VR title that they will be working on.
“We’re excited to work with an accomplished industry veteran like Smilegate,” says Michael Daubert, CEO of Phaser Lock. “They understand the Asian entertainment market better than anybody else, as evidenced by the overwhelming success of their game, CROSSFIRE, the most played online First Person Shooter game in the world with six million concurrent players. We couldn’t ask for a better strategic partner to expand, especially with the lightning fast growth of VR we’re seeing in the Asian market.”
It is currently unknown what title that they will be working on at the moment. Smilegate was the one who approaches Phaser Lock, after seeing the success of Final Approach, with the intention of expanding their VR offerings and making an investment in the growing space.

The title of their collaboration will be unveiled in the coming months.
