"Kartong – Death by Cardboard" VR Details, Announcement Video

Kartong – Death by Cardboard” (here after known as “Kartong”) is the next title from SVRVIVE (after SVRVIVE: The Deus Helix, which just received official Oculus Touch support via SteamVR on Steam), and today they have released some details about the title.

First teased back in the beginning of April, Kartong is announced to be a ‘cute’ FPS stealth game, that puts you up against evil experiments inside a miniature cardboard city. According to SVRVIVE, the maze of traps will change with every game (procedurally generated levels in another words).

In this title, you will discover that you have shrunk to the size of a toilet paper roll, and you will be facing off ferocious evil toys. Your weapon is constructed out of ordinary office supplies too, so as the developer said, your situation is rather shitty here.

Kartong – Death by Cardboard! is actually the result of a game jam gone wrong, but the gameplay quickly caught on with the team and we decided to keep working on it. The game puts you inside a miniature city with procedurally generated levels, which means the city’s map will change every time you play. We’ve also added a seed system, allowing you to share your discovered city maps with friends and challenge each other”, says Daniel Kihlgren Kallander, Lead Game Designer and Programmer at SVRVIVE Studios.

This game will have a local highscore system, and will feature various difficulties, and there will be collectibles in this game as well.

It’s actually so hard to stay alive and reach the finish line, that even our own devs can’t complete all levels yet – but hopefully there are some talented gamers out there! We will invite the gamer community to co-create additional weapons, collectibles and enemies together with us before the full release. We’re super excited to see what amazing craziness they come up with!”, says Faviana Vangelius, CEO and Co-founder of SVRVIVE Studios.

Kartong is scheduled for release this year for the Playstation VR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Here’s the Steam Page of the game if you wish to wishlist it.

You can check out the trailer and screenshots below below. This game looks rather quirky in a good way, so personally I will be keeping my eyes close to this title.
