FuturLab has just revealed their next VR title via (Playstation Blog), “Tiny Trax” for the Playstation VR! From the developer of Surge and Velocity 2X, Tiny Trax is a racing title which “puts a new spin on the classic slot car formula”.
Check out the trailer for the game below. You will see that this VR racing title isn’t played in a first person perspective, but you view the game environment as a ‘giant’ third person perspective.
We’ve taken the slot-car format made popular by Scalextric and Carrera, and pumped it up a few notches!
Adding lane-switching, boost and a super-smooth drifting mechanic to recharge your boost gauge, Tiny Trax expands the slot-car experience by introducing a whole new set of skills to wrap your thumbs around. We’ll even put your car back on the track if you overcook a corner! :p Steer your car as if it were radio controlled, zipping along walls, dunking underwater, flying overhead, and looping upside-down through ice-caves and space stations! – Dave Gabriel – FuturLab
According to the developer, this title will bring the action to you with tiny cars driving around you in VR. There are 12 tracks in this title, such as tropical beaches, forgotten ruins and also alien planets too, as well as soundtrack from Joris de Man, who also worked on Horizon Zero Dawn.
Tiny Trax feature 6 vehicles to race against AI, or up to 4 friends online in single races/tournaments. There will also be leaderboards for high scores as well.
FuturLab will be sharing more information for this game at E3.
