Drifter Entertainment has just formally announced a fast-action sci-fi shooter “Gunheart VR” for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Playstation VR.
Serving as the debut VR effort from the studio, this title is crafted using the Unreal Engine 4, by the team that includes those from Microsoft Game Studios and Epic Games. Gunheart VR is said to make use of motion controls and the 3D spaces within VR.
In this game, players take on the role of futuristic bounty hunters who ‘link’ their minds and hearts with killing machines scattered around the galaxy. Players will be locked in battles against flying bug-like alien enemies, using an array of weapons such as crossbows and assault rifles. The game make use of teleportation for movement, and you can also teleport to elevated ground for an advantage.
There’s a loose campaign narrative in this title, along with co-op component where you can team up with other players to attack the opposing creatures.
A trailer has been released for the game. You can view it below. Drifter Entertainment will be releasing the game first on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift in Summer, followed by Sony Playstation VR later this year.
