Japan VR Zone To Feature "Evangelion VR", "Mario Kart VR", "Dragon Ball VR" & Others on HTC Vive

A VR arcade “VR Zone” in Japan has been offering various VR attractions, and today, they released a video showing the HTC Vive being played on various VR machines. Several games were demonstrated including Evangelion VR, Mario Kart Arcade GP VR and Dragon Ball VR. Mario Kart VR is created by Bandai Namco with Nintendo licensing. In the brief glimpse, you can spot the player initiating a throwing motion (with a device strapped to the wrist), which causes the in-game character to throw the green turtle shell item at the Browser in front.

There’s also a Ghost in the Shell attraction, which is a “Field VR Activity” where multiple VR players play the game in a large scale room.

VR Zone’s CEO is aiming to deploy 2 types of its facilities around the globe: a large scale facility, and a small scale portal (that offers 3 or 4 VR experiences). Currently, 2 VR zone portals are planned: London (in Summer 2017), which will be the first oversea expansion, and Kobe, Japan in Fall 2017.

It seems these attractions will be offered in VR Zone Shinjuku, which will open on July 14, and will consist of 16 attractions in all (not all will require VR devices. Scroll down below to view all 16 of them). VR Zone Shinjuku will run for 21 months from July 2017 to March 2019, and they hope to amass 1 million visitors during the period.
