If we are set to believe the newly launched Steam Page, we will be getting a spy VR title “The Red Stare” very soon.
This adventure title looks to fill a spot where we haven’t really seen before in VR. Set in the 1950s, you act as an American spy agent on a stake out from your apartment window. Your goal is to keep a constant lookout at your neighborhood, as you try to figure out which of your neighbors is a communist spy.
As a room-scale title, you will find several items scattered around you. These tools are vital, and you will be using them for various purposes. Using the motion controllers, you will be picking up phone calls and receiving information from fax machine, flipping the files for intels on our desk, taking and pointing the camera to take pictures and faxing it to your handler. You will be given various hints and instruction, such as their appearances and their behavior, from your handler, as you strive to complete your mission.
According to its twitter account, this indie game is developed by the students from NHTV, who call themselves PLAY:D. The Steam Page indicates that both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift will be supported. No official release date has been announced yet, but according to the Steam Page again, this game will be available July 2017.
