Freekstorm‘s upcoming virtual reality game “Dr Kvorak’s Obliteration VR” has been brewing for quite a while (7 years!), and today we have the full details about this title, as it launches on Steam later this month on 26th July 2017. It will carry a price tag of $19.99 when it launch.
This game is described as an single-player adventure/puzzle title, releasing on the Windows PC desktop platform with HTC Vive/Oculus Rift & Touch compatibility via Steam.
Doctor Kvorak’s Obliteration Game is the title of the biggest game show in the galaxy (which also happens to be the deadliest one). Starring 3 talented alien contestants, a ‘mysterious rhyming chicken and a dastardly deity with an ego problem’, you will be solving complex puzzles, overcoming dangerous traps, rescuing your friends and saving your world from doom, all at the same time. These 3 alien contestants however, doesn’t seems like they will be harboring any evil thoughts, as you will be controlling all 3 of them (each with their own unique abilities), making them work together to ouwit the evil Doctor and winning the fabulous prizes.
Here’s a gameplay trailer to give you an in depth look.
According to the developer, there will be artefacts to collect for unlocking the skins for the contestants. This title also features a fully crafted story across 15 challenging game zones as well. Players can also create and share their own maps via the comprehensive VR level editor, fully integrated into the Steam Workshop.
There is also a VR trailer, that shows what you will see when you play the game in VR. As you can see, you can utilize the motion controller (which shows up as a virtual hand) to direct the path of the aliens, interact with the game elements directly, as well as a full dynamic, head controlled camera angle.
