“Elemental Combat” Update & Alpha Release Date

Action PvP game for virtual reality “Elemental Combat” from Avrlon will be coming to Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in the future, though it seems we are still far away from the release. Elemental Combat described as a title that “blends the speed and intensity of an FPS with martial arts and RPG elements”. The game is currently in a pre-alpha stage, but the development is of course, still active. Today, the developer has shared some updates regarding the title, but here’s an old trailer to get you up to speed quickly about the game.

Current Roadmap

According to its web site, the game’s basic fighting system has been completed, and they are currently focusing on these features: PvP Multiplayer, Martial Art Movements and AI Training & Offline Mode.

PvP Multiplayer

The site states that you will be able to engage in online battle against your friends and others in this game. To support this online system, they will be adding features, such as friend list and matchmaking.

Martial Artist Movements

According to the developer, you can also perform martial art movements, that is going to affect your control over the elements. More powerful abilities and techniques are said to be hidden deep in the game.

AI Training & Offline Mode

This feature is rather self explanatory. You will be able to fight against AI opponents with customizable difficulty, or a sandbox game to train your punches.

Developer Update

Multiplayer Is Working

The developers state that they have finally got the multiplayer up and working, after working on it non-stop for the past few weeks. The work is not done yet though, as they are going to put the feature to the test and get the balancing right.

Graphical Update

Along with the multiplayer, the graphic has been upgraded over the past few weeks as well. The prototype graphic is now more polished in terms of the environment art. Again, this is not the end yet, as there are still things to do. They “really want to invoke the feeling of having actual fire in your hands and that the water moves realistically (which is seriously the hardest part).”

Alpha Release Date

The game is ready to move into its next stage of development, as the developer announces that the alpha release date will commence on August 1st 2017. Steam page is currently being set up, and we will also receive additional information too.

The game also has a rather deep lore too, and its backstory is being updated periodically in textual form. Check out the page here to see it: it is currently up to chapter 15. The game is currently on patreon, and if you will like to show your support for the game, you can help fund the development there.
