“Death Horizon VR” Announced, Teaser Videos

A zombie apocalyptic VR shooter “Death Horizon VR” will be coming to Gear VR, according to details and teaser videos.

Here’s the plot synopsis taken from their site.

The T12 virus has broken containment at the Horizon research station. All the researchers have become walking corpses. The virus is localized for now, but it could break out and cause a disaster at any moment. You’re going to walk into that hellhole and cleanse the station. Don’t try to save bullets – kill every last zombie. The station’s corridors are full of these creatures.
Mop up and come home.
Over and out.

The teaser videos doesn’t show much in terms of gameplay unfortunately, but it gives you a rough idea about the setting of the game. Studio Dream Dev will be creating this mobile VR title.

According to the company web site though, this is a VR ‘rail shooter’ for not only Gear VR, but Google Daydream as well. Death Horizon VR is currently being crafted using Unity 3D. The developer states that using Unity 3D “combined with fine quality source graphics” will allow this game to be scaled up for high end VR, such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Playstation VR.

The zombie types seem to be mainly outfitted in researcher and worker’s attires, with some civilians thrown in too.

I have got in touch with the developer to learn more about the game. Stay tune for more information. Meanwhile, here are some concept arts, as well as 2 trailers to tide you over. Weirdly enough, the first trailer suggest that it is also coming to Google Daydream, while the second trailer makes no mention about Google Daydream. Regardless, I’ll clarify with the developer about this matter and report back in the future.
