After being greenlit on Steam Greenlight, team-based multiplayer FPS Skyfront VR has progressed further in its development. Today, the Steam Page for this VR game from Levity Play revealed several new information.
Skyfront VR is a team-based multiplayer FPS where the best warriors team up in zero-gravity battle arenas to determine the Ultimate Champion.
According to the Steam Page, this game (described as “Call of Duty meets Ender’s Game” by its developer) will be releasing on 29th September 2017, as early access for roughly 6 to 8 months.
Skyfront VR take place in 2300 AD, where “The Final War” took place (the battle that ended all battles). The conclusion of the war has severe consequences, as our planet was scarred beyond recognition. 4 centuries later, humankind is thriving again and have moved on. Technology has achieved ultimate synergy with nature and Laws of Physics. To preserve the memory of our violent past, the “Skyfront Tournament” was created as a symbolic competition. In this global tournament, competitors gather to compete in zero gravity arenas for the title of Guardians – Keepers of the Peace. You play as one of the contestants in this game.
The game will initially launch with 1 map and 2 game types. 4 weapons will be available, along with 6 special abilities. The full version will be expanded, with 5 game modes including “Single Deathmatch, 3v3 Elimination and Capture the Flag”. 5-6 maps will be up for selection, along with more than 20 weapons with special abilities, a progression system, customizable character assets and cosmetics, play against AI feature, and single player content as well.
The developer plans to have regular update for every 2 weeks or so. There will also be in-game bug report tool for users to send in feedbacks, glitches and bugs easier as well. Skyfront VR will be available for the HTC Vive when it launch.
