“Justice League Virtual Reality: The Complete Experience” Announced for Vive/Rift/PSVR/Gear VR/Daydream/Cardboard, Details & Screenshots

Warner Bros has today published a press release that they are releasing a Justice League VR experience, that will serve as a tie-in VR product to promote the theatrical opening of “Justice League”!

In this experience, player will step into the shoes of iconic DC Justice League members, like Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg. It will be rolled out in 4 stages as the movie sees its release.

Each character will have their own unique mission:

  • Outrace your enemies as BATMAN
  • Fight Parademons as WONDER WOMAN
  • Face a creature from the deep as AQUAMAN
  • Stop a ticking bomb as THE FLASH
  • Take out enemy drones as CYBORG

And other characters from the DC universe may be added into the VR experience. Don’t get caught in the hype though, as there are various hints that this will be a rather short VR experience similar to other VR-ties for movies like Spider-Man: Homecoming – Virtual Reality Experience and Ghostbusters: Now Hiring Virtual Reality Experience.

Here are the release plan for it.

1st Stage:
The first taste of the VR experience kicks off globally with a promotional demo in partnership with Gillette: “Justice League” VR: Join the League – Gillette Edition, and will make its debut on Googleboard for iPhones and Android phones today as free download on Apple App Store, Google Play Store and at http://justiceleaguethemovie.com/vr, with about 90 seconds of gameplay per character.

2nd Stage:
In October, the Justice League booth at NYCC will offer attendees a trial at the HTC Vive version with enhanced version of the Super Hero simulation.

3rd Stage:
The IMAX VR: “Justice League” Experience will be unveiled at IMAX VR Centres beginning on November 17—the opening day of the feature film—and will be an IMAX exclusive for its first two weeks.

4th Stage:
In December, the “Justice League” Virtual Reality: The Complete Experience will be available online for home use, with of course, expanded functionality and features over the Google Cardboard version. This experience will be released for ‘transactional purchase’ for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR, Google Daydream and Playstation VR. It will feature additional modes, expanded missions, controllers, spartial tracking and room scale tracking (depending on platforms).
