“Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope” Leaving Early Access on Sep 20th

Croteam has announced that on September 20th, Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope will be departing early access, and re-emerge as a final release, with a new update that will add 3 levels and 3 new gameplay modes (Arena, Endless Wave and Daily Challenge), as well as leaderboard!

As part of the Serious Sam series, this arcade action shooter game is an original Serious Sam entry that’s build from the ground up for virtual reality.

The Last Hope took only 11 months to finish and VR landscape has changed dramatically in the meantime. The game was envisioned as a love letter to the arcades of old, a shoot-em-up experience with a room-scale support for dodging the incoming fire and enemies that become necessary at higher difficulty levels. Easy to pick up for almost anybody and instantly enjoy the VR experience, but a challenge to truly master, especially after the introduction of the new “Serious” difficulty level.

Croteam will be having a part 2 of the announcement entry, where they will discuss the rest of the changes coming as part of the final version, as well as some of the challenges they see in the last 11 months.

Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope is currently available as early access on Steam for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
