Alchemist Defender VR, is an early access title on Steam that puts the gamer into the shoes of a Master Alchemist, is ready to cross the finishing line to enter that milestone that many early access titles are yearning: exiting early access and entering full release status!
The developer TreeView Studio has announced that the game is set to formally launch on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift on November 22nd. If you are one of those who doesn’t buy early access game, you can start to set your sight on this title now.
As a Master Alchemist who have spend years of researching and crafting tools to find the Philosopher’s Stone , you have just invented a portal to new worlds, and the energy of these new lands help fuel your final journey to reach the stone. Unfortunately these area are guarded by rebellion, and now you are thrown into the final resistance stands between you and absolute power.
Alchemist Defender features a mix of first person gameplay with god perspective tower defend strategy gameplay. You will spend your time positioning one of the defense turrets (Fast Cannon, Frost and Mortar) in preset locations across 4 fully featured levels , and hope that these turrets will manage to eliminate the 10 waves of enemies who will head from their spawn points to the destination. Your goal is to prevent them from reaching the destination, and the more you destroy, the more resources you gather which allows you to invest into constructing more turrets. These will most likely not enough to carry you through the level, so you will have to resort to using your special skills. By using one of these weapon skills, you will assume first person perspective temporarily, allowing you to attack the enemies directly on the battlefield as your turrets continue to do their jobs in the background. You are able to use both melee and ranged combat skills: War Hammer, Spiked Mace, Explosive Crossbow, Musketoon style firing arm and more. There are also skills that are used in god’s perspective: you can simply place proximity mine power weapons including explosive blast, chemical shock and others.
Perhaps the following trailer will explain the gameplay easier if you are still confused.
The full release of the game will be deployed for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets at a price of $16.99 USD.
