Merry Snowballs isn’t a new VR game. This snowball tossing VR title from Hatrabbit was released last year on Steam for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift to capitalize on the Christmas season, and when the approaching Christmas this year, attention to this title has gone to the upswing again for obvious reason. Its only fitting for this family-friendly Christmas-themed snowball VR title to be played during this period.
Hatrabbit says that they are going to launch a new, more epic version soon, along with some new plans: this title has been released for free on mobile devices (Google Daydream, Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard last week), and a new premium version will be releasing in early December for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
“Mobile VR feels like a natural step in our journey of exploring the market and Merry Snowballs is a perfect fit on these platforms”, said Andreas Chryssovitsanos, co-founder of Hatrabbit. “Merry Snowballs is a game for the whole family and we are releasing it for free so more people can experience high quality games. We are also working together with partners like Omnivirt and Advrty in order to explore in-game advertising in VR”.
This title will let you relief your childhood of engaging in snowball fights, but with the addition of cool gadgets and powerups you once wish you had. Your opponents in this title includes the usual unfriendly neighborhood kids, the Angry Ginerbread men, and at the end of your fight to the top, the Bad Santa.
There is no date on when the new version of this title will be out on Steam, but the vague release date is early December, so it could hit any time soon. In the meantime, go ahead and wishlist or follow this title if you are interested in this game.
